Simple Steps
Simple Steps is an innovative Multimedia Parent Support package which has been designed and produced by parents and professionals to inform you about Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA). If you are resident in Northern Ireland you may be able to access a copy free of charge.
A diagnosis of Autism is devastating and as parents we want to do everything to help our children. In our drive to help our children we are vulnerable to the false claims of non-scientific interventions for Autism. This is the time when we must rely on science to guide our judgement in the best interests of our children. If the intervention recommended is not supported by scientific publications then the claims have not been validated.
Simple Steps was funded by The Big Lottery Fund and BBC Children in Need.
Simple Steps Development 2009/2010
The Simple Steps pack is currently available to purchase through the PEAT website, however, additional funding from the European Commission: Lifelong Learning Programme 2007-2013 Leonardo da Vinci means we are in the processes of producing an updated pack in multiple languages.
