Following a newspaper article (March 1997) about the progress made by a child with Autism using Applied Behaviour Analysis method, two public meetings were held by Dr. Mickey Keenan, a Behaviour Analyst at the University of Ulster, to further inform interested parents.

The level of interest led to a week-long intensive workshop given by Dr. Bobby Newman (Association in Manhattan for Autistic Children). Approximately 50 people attended (including parents, carers, students and various professionals). From there, a Charity was established and given the name "Parents' Education as Autism Therapists".

We now employ four full time staff and provide training and support to families throughout Northern Ireland.
